Rites of Passage

Marriage & Commitment Ceremonies

It is a great joy to officiate when two people choose to announce their love and unity to the community. Together we create a ceremony utilizing the supportive elements, the power of chosen word, and celebration of this joining.

Some examples of previous ceremonies:

* Private firewalk - cross the coals as a symbol of your dedication to each other and the path ahead, while witnessed by your chosen community.

* Circle Ceremony - Stand in the center of your chosen community as they encircle and support your bond and vows with a chosen song or chant.

Naming Ceremony

After the birth of a child, some parents like to create sacred space in which to introduce the child to the community.

Adults who have rebirthed themselves and wish to create ceremony to honor and rename themselves with community as witness.

Teen Rite of Passage

Many of the problems that face our youth today can be attributed to the absence of rites of passage. Our youth MUST be honored, witnessed and seen as part of the community. There is an African proverb, "If you don't initiate the youth, they will burn down the village." If the youth are not given an initiation by the elders, they will unconsciously figure out ways to create their own initiation. Today's youth reaches for experiences that are dangerous and life-threatening. Often including violence, drug abuse, unconscious sexuality, bodily mutilation, etc. The youth need their elder's to recognize and hold them in witness and ceremony. How many youth are wearing tribal tattoos and piercings? I believe this speaks of their attempts at self initiation, begging to be seen by a community that is ignoring them. Fire provides us with a universal language that is both dangerous and healing. As the community supports and witnesses, Our warriors of tomorrow cross the fires of initiation in this powerful ceremony as we welcome them back home into the tribe of the larger group. Individual and group ceremonies offered.

Blessingways

A ritual for pregnant women, creating a circle of strength and nurturance from their community as they prepare to give birth.

Queening & Croning Rite

A ceremony to honor a woman's passage into the Queen years of her life. Intention setting, honoring and releasing of the past and a claiming of the staff of elder may be part of this rite.

Death Rites

Soul & Body Transition

For the Dying: Assistance with leaving this world with grace and celebration. Together we will create a ceremony of life to honor and release the attachments of this life. Bringing a soul remembrance to where you are going and calling your spirit guardians and loved ones to escort you when your chosen time arrives.

Prayers, songs and anointment with essential oils offered for the body after the soul has crossed.
